About Mr. Momient

Micah L. Momient, a Glenville graduate, is a dynamic musician and has been an educator for almost 15 years.

During his time at Central State University and Southern New Hampshire University, Micah studied under great musicians and educators and by the time he received his Bachelor’s Degree, he had already been a Band Director at Glenville High School once before, the chief arranger at Euclid High School (OH), and an Assistant Band Director at Maple Heights High School (OH).

It was at Maple Heights High School in Maple Heights, Ohio, where he attributed the bulk of his experience as a music educator. Initially, he came in as a band camp clinician through a non-profit organization, Syncopated Sounds of Music and Arts, and later, as an Assistant Band Director, became an extremely vital piece in the success of the “Maple Heights Mighty Marching Mustangs”.

The band’s performances include Cedar Point (the acclaimed Midwest Amusement Park), the Music Through The Streets Battle of the Bands (OH), Alabama State University’s High School Battle of the Bands (AL), Central State University Homecoming (OH), and a host of other great events throughout a five year tenure.

Opportunity came as Mr. Momient was asked to go back home to Glenville and create a band program from the ground up. He brings with him a rich history of talented musicians and community leaders.  In the realm of high school and university bands and choirs, he has been a musician, a bandsman, a leader, a motivator, a coordinator, and a director spanning almost 30 years and continues the legacy of band excellence to this day.

Mr. Momient simply wants to create connections and have a positive impact on those around him. “There is so much potential and talent around here and it is time to bring it out. Glenville took care of me and now, I want to pay it forward. It’s great to be back home!”
