G.R.I.T. in Harmony: Stephanie Tubbs-Jones and Tarblooder Band Unite!
CLEVELAND, OHIO – March 12, 2025 – The Glenville High School Band Feeder Program is about to feel that much needed G.R.I.T. with Stephanie Tubbs-Jones School joining the fray. With the weather finally breaking, residents are eager to hear the melodic sounds that may be new to some, but familiar to others from uniting the schools that share 60 acres of open field in their backyard.
“I really like this plan.” says Natalie Smith-Benson, who is the Principal of Stephanie Tubbs-Jones School. “We want to help in any way that we can.”
“I love how this and we are strengthening the community,” explained Micah L. Momient, proud Band Director for the Glenville Tarblooder Band. “We are finally able to create in some and recreate in others a pipeline for the arts that has been sorely missed for years.”
Through this partnership, middle school students at Stephanie Tubbs-Jones School—where the motto “Yes, Every Scholar” inspires success for all—will now have access to the opportunities and mentorship provided by the renowned Tarblooder Band, a program built on the pillars of P.R.I.D.E. (Potential, Respect, Integrity, Discipline, Excellence). Together, this alliance amplifies a commitment to academic and musical growth, providing students a platform to thrive.
